CONEXX-Europe participated at the 2016 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities, which took place in Brussels from 10th to 13th October. This year’s European Week of Regions and Cities (EUWRC) focused on promoting sustainable and inclusive growth across European regions and cities. After the opening ceremonies the first day, which laid the groundwork, the numerous participants attended a variety of workshops about different topics ranging from measures to create job opportunities for all and building a more ‘self-employment friendly’ business environment, to best practices on implementing EU-backed projects.
CONEXX-Europe attended different workshops on disaster risk management and sustainable growth, social inclusion through community-led local development, challenges and opportunities of cross-border regions and the possibilities of decoupling economic growth with ecological development. The workshops, featuring experts and practitioners on the relevant subjects, sparked interesting discussions between participants and panellists and contributed to share knowledge and good practices.
