LIFE is the European Union instrument that finances support for the environment, natural conservation and climate action projects within the European Union. Since 1992 LIFE has cofinanced 4,306 projects. For the 2014-2020 period, LIFE will have contributed approximately 3.4 billion euros to the protection of the environment and the climate.
